MATERIALS
- Roughout Leather
Roughout leather is created using a reverse-suede technique at Red Wing’s very own S.B. Foot Tanning Co. While most tanneries split, thin and weaken the hide to create the rough suede surface, they simply use the other side of the hide. Doing so avoids splitting or thinning the full-grain hides. This makes Red Wing’s Roughout leather just as strong and durable as our other leathers.
SIZING
Aim for a snug fit in the upper with enough room to wiggle your toes. Over time the full-grain leather upper and leather footbed will mold to your foot for a custom fit.
